Just a friendly reminder from Sra. Baker…
Important Dates: Cultural Participation and Research Projects are due April 30th by 3:15! Click here for more details. This project is a requirement for second semester!
Make-up Work: Generally, you will receive as many class sessions as you are absent to make up work. This includes making up tests, quizzes, and skill assessments! However, it is YOUR responsibility to find out what you missed by checking the website and asking your partner about in-class notes and assignments (like al entrars and class practices!) that were collected. I will NOT seek you out to remind you to make up the work. I am always available during Huskie Hour if you have other questions, but I will not use class time to discuss make-up work.
Late Work: This semester you will receive coupons for late work. Be sure to read the expiration dates and the follow the directions carefully! Long term assignments like CPR projects and assessments need to be turned in on time! You may turn them in any time before the day they are due. If you plan to be absent the day a long term project or skill assessment is due, you need to turn it in/take it before you leave. If you are ill when a long term project is due, please have your parents call or e-mail me, and turn it in the first day back (regardless of whether we have class.) If you are unexcused, you will lose 25% percent of your final grade.
Grades: Per departmental policy, semester grades will be weighted according to these percentages:
Skill assessments: 80%
(reading, writing, listening, speaking 20% each)
(reading, writing, listening, speaking 20% each)
Tests, Quizzes, Projects: 19%
Extra credit: 1%
Students-- remember I am but a facilitator in the learning process. Be proactive! Participate appropriately in class. Don’t wait for knowledge to come to you. Go after it! YOU control your destiny in our class. Stay focused on the improvement of your skills!
Parents-- you should see your student studying Spanish at least four nights per week, 20-30 minutes each day.
